Glodon Advances AI, 5D BIM and Smart Construction at Malaysia BIM Day 2026

On 14–15 September 2026, as a Strategic Partner of Malaysia BIM Day 2026: Putrajaya Digital Built, Glodon brought its vision for Industrial AI × 5D BIM to a national platform connecting policy, industry practice and digital innovation.

Organised by CIDB Malaysia and Perbadanan Putrajaya, with support from the Ministry of Works Malaysia, the event brought together government, industry and technology leaders around BIM, AI, digital twins and data-driven delivery.

As one of the technology highlights, Glodon showcased QuantifAI, Gsite, cost management solution and Smart Tower Crane solutions, demonstrating how digital intelligence can connect quantity, cost, project information and site execution across the construction lifecycle.

Glodon also welcomed Minister of Works YB Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Federal Territories YB Puan Hannah Yeoh, and YBhg. Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim, Secretary General of the Ministry of Works, to its booth, where the team presented how AI × 5D BIM and smart construction technologies are being translated into practical applications across the construction industry.

Turning Industrial AI into Construction Value

Across the Main Summit and technical breakout sessions, a consistent message emerged: the next stage of digital construction is not about adding more standalone tools, but embedding intelligence across the construction lifecycle.

At the Main Summit, Mr. You Yang, Product Operations Director, Glodon Asia, framed this shift as the evolution towards BIM 2.0 — moving from model-based digitalisation to a DATA+AI-driven, full-lifecycle approach. In Malaysia, where BIM adoption continues to advance while 5D and digital capability remain uneven, the opportunity is increasingly about turning digital momentum into productivity, stronger project control and measurable business value.

That vision was translated into two practical areas. In cost management, Mr. Chew Siak Kor and Ts Sam Tan demonstrated how Industrial AI can connect quantity take-off, pricing, review and analysis with trusted professional knowledge and enterprise data — enabling QS professionals to move beyond repetitive work towards higher-value judgement and decision-making.

In project delivery, Mr. Tian Junpeng and Mr. Kevin Li showed how intelligence can extend from digital collaboration into physical site operations — connecting CDE, project workflows and smart construction technologies to improve visibility, coordination, safety and operational efficiency.

Together, the sessions presented a broader pathway for Industrial AI: from trusted data and professional knowledge, to better decisions, connected workflows and smarter execution.

From Industry Insight to Real-World Application

That vision was reflected directly in Glodon’s technology showcase.

Through QuantifAI, Gsite, cost management solution and Smart Tower Crane solutions, visitors experienced a connected digital pathway from AI-powered quantity take-off and cost management to connected project collaboration and intelligent site operations. These solutions demonstrated how digital technologies can create greater continuity across the project lifecycle.

For Glodon, the goal is not to digitalise isolated tasks, but to help organisations connect data, workflows and decisions to create more measurable project value.

Building Capability Beyond Technology

The Malaysia AI × 5D BIM Contest 2026, organised by Glodon with support from CIDB Digital in conjunction with Malaysia BIM Day 2026, was designed to develop industry-ready digital talent through practical applications of AI and 5D BIM in quantity take-off and cost management.

Through structured QuantifAI training and hands-on project application, participants progressed from digital learning to practical implementation—building capability in AI-powered measurement, model-based workflows and digital cost management. The initiative reflects a broader effort to bridge the gap between technology adoption and professional readiness across Malaysia’s construction industry.

The competition culminated in 17 finalist teams across the Public Sector Projects and Private Sector Projects categories. Their submissions were evaluated by nine distinguished judges from government agencies, professional institutions and industry, ensuring a balanced assessment of practical relevance, professional standards and digital innovation:

  3. Datuk Sr Ts. Mohd Nasir Saari — Senior Quantity Surveyor & Head of QS Research Laboratory, JKR CREaTE
  4. Sr Masnizan Che Mat — Chair, Quantity Surveying Division, RISM
  5. Sr Quek Jin Keat — Representative, RICS Malaysia
  6. Ir. Ts. Loi Yew Hua, FCIOB — President, CIOB
  7. Assoc. Prof. Sr Dr. Sarajul Fikri Mohamed — Councillor (Quantity Surveying), RISM
  8. Joyce Chan — Country Director, Glodon Malaysia
  9. Junaida Fatina — Strategic Partnership Director, Government & Education Business Unit, Glodon Malaysia

In the Public Sector Projects category, CT Cost Management PLT was named Champion, followed by ARH Jurukur Bahan Sdn Bhd and BEQS Consultant Sdn Bhd.

In the Private Sector Projects category, AQS Services Sdn Bhd took the Champion title, followed by ARH Jurukur Bahan Sdn Bhd and Baharuddin Ali & Low Sdn Bhd.

The journey concluded at the Malaysia BIM Day Gala Dinner, where the winning teams were recognised by industry leaders. Awards were presented by Sr Ahmad Farrin, Chief Executive of CIDB Malaysia, and Suhaimi Bin Mansor SMP, Deputy Chief Executive (Development), CIDB Malaysia, together with Mr. Wei Lintao, Assistant Vice President of Glodon Company Limited, and witnessed by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Ahmad bin Haji Maslan, Deputy Minister of Works.

More than recognising competition performance, the programme created a structured progression from learning and application to professional evaluation and industry recognition. This reflects a broader principle behind digital transformation: technology creates impact only when professionals are equipped to apply it effectively.

Across Malaysia BIM Day 2026, this same principle was reflected in Glodon’s wider contribution from industry dialogue and technology demonstration to professional capability development and real-world application.
